Whoever thinks that summer is over needs a calendar. Not only is it not literally over for another 21 days, it's not even virtually over unless you're one of those "the glass is half-empty" types. Sheesh.
So, it's Sunday. I'm tired and I'm not hungry.
coffee, Beaumont Breakfast Blend (1 cup)
before heading out to church with The Wife. And don't we get there, walk in and pick up a copy of the church bulletin, and see that in the new photo on the front page (left), there we are in the lower right corner, on the sidewalk making our way from the parking lot. And on the left are our good friends Mary Ann and Pat Didas. Perhaps this new photo will bring in more church-goers. Next week I'll bring my autograph-signing Sharpie.
Was a little hungrier when we got home, so had the traditional Sunday breakfast for lunch...
grits & 2 soft-boiled eggs (1 bowl)
coffee, Café Express Café Caramel (1 cup)

and worked a bit on the New York Times Sunday Crossword Puzzle before hanging more drywall. Good grief I'm slow! All of a sudden it was 6 pm, I'm not done yet (there were issues), and it's dinner time,
rigatoni & meatballs (5 — yes, five!)
chef salad w/French dressing
2 rigatonis |
Also, during the course of the afternoon and dinner I managed to put away
Genny Light (3 12 oz. cans)
My living room. LOL! |
And now suddenly it's Sunday evening. I'm tired and I'm not hungry.
But it is still summer.
You never said "see you in church!" I'm almost always at 8:00 Mass-you must go later. Went to 4:30 Mass a couple of weeks ago & was surprised to see people I know who are parishioners at St Francis. You can autograph my church bulletin but I don't save them like my mother use to.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right about summer-it's not over even when the calendar says it's over. Welcome to the "ber" months-my favorite. Cathy
We're usually there at 9:30 or 11 on Sundays. Once, a few weeks back, I went alone at 8:00 and hardly recognized anyone.
