The stars aligned this morning and turned it into a day of eating stuff that's been lying around. It seems that when I was a kid my Dad was the one who always ate the leftovers rather than throw them out, and I always thought he was some kind of a kook, eating all of that "old" food. Live and learn...
So the first old thing I worked at finishing-off was the God-awful crackers in my car lunch bag which just won't go away. Seven down, one to go with today's offering
Lance cracker snack, Four Cheese-flavored (1 pkg. of 6)
coffee, medium black from Tim Horton's (1, to go)
If you ever see me in the snack aisle at Tops, hovering over the Lance display, call security and have me arrested for something. Anything.
gum (1 slab)
When she was a little girl, one night after dinner we asked Katie what she'd like for dessert. "Gum," she replied in all of her little girl innocence. Hah!
It was a long work day, which translated into a late lunch of
leftover macaroni salad w/tuna & egg (finished it off... finally)
water (12 oz.)
cookies (3)
Aldi brand of Samoa-like cookie |
About the cookies: the package was gone as the cookies were in a plastic container. When I first saw them I thought "Girl Scout Samoas." But that can't be; they'd never have lasted that long around here. A little research on the web told me they were from Aldi: Benton's Caramel Coconut Fudge, which are pretty darn close to the Girl Scout brand.
Dinnertime when the kids are both gone usually results in something like this: Tracy and I look at each other and both proclaim that there's no use cooking for just the two of us, so how 'bout a sammich?
ham & swiss on a plain bagel (1)
Wavy Lays (some)
water (12 oz.)
Sam from "Moonrise Kingdom" |
The dinner was consumed while watching the DVD of the movie Moonrise Kingdom, which to me sure seemed like a Coen Brothers movie.
And now, let's put a fork in the day.
